Find of the Day? 1994 Audi 80 Avant…with a 4.2L V8

words: Bill, photos: Ricardas Zizas Autohandel

It’s been a good several days for Finds of the Day: the RS2 Avant, the Imola Yellow RS 4, the Amazon Blue Ur-quattro, and the Holy Grail, the 1986 Audi Sport quattro. All special cars, all desirable cars, all hard-to-find cars so why would I feature a plain Jane Audi 80 Avant with ugly wheels? Because of this:

Some mad scientist shoved a 4.2 V8 under the bonnet. Apparently this isn’t an uncommon swap as I’ve found several YouTube videos on V8 swapped B4s (here’s a hint: it sounds gooooood).

Must be the LS swap of Europe. Anyway, here’s the ad (translated from German):

And that’s it. No information about the swap: who did it, how many miles are on the engine/chassis, where did the engine come from etc etc. It does, however, have those desirable features: 1) it’s an Audi 2) it’s an Avant 3) it’s a manual 4) it has a freaking V8.

Price? €7,800 ($8,729 USD). Mileage? 377,451 km (234,537 miles). Ease of shipping to the States? Probably not that easy as it does not have the original engine nor an engine that was available in this body style. Oh well…it’s has a ton of miles on it anyway but we can still dream, no?

If you’re so inclined to buy it, you can find the ad HERE.
