Find of the Day: 1983 Audi Quattro

words: Bill, photos: Craigslist

The Pacific Northwest…I’ve said this many many times but that region of the country seems to hold all the rust-free specimens from the Audi of yore. We’ve featured several Find of the Days from there and most are in great condition. Take this one. It’s getting harder (and more expensive) to find an Audi Quattro and in my opinion, this one isn’t priced out of range. Here’s the ad:

It has a clean title. 155K miles. New paint a couple years ago. Intended Acceleration suspension and ECU. also has a 272 Cam upgrade. This is an original WX Motor as well. Has curb rash free and pretty much perfect like new 8×15 Ronal R8 wheels, and runs very strong. Gone thru the brake system as well as a new valve cover gasket and fix a bunch of little things. Its kinda a feeler to see if I can find a buyer before I try BaT, which I understand is about a month waiting time to get a car on there.
Car has no rust at all and a decent amount of records. no accidents. just replaced tail lights, hood release cable. Has original floor mats and chocolate Brown interior. new muffler as it needed one. original windshield still, new sunroof seal. The tail has some wear on top. trunk is very clean, spare tire, tool kit and jack. VERY solid car. possible trade for something of equal value. car is at my mechanic in Sandy OR
do not need help selling, no tire kickers, serious inquiries only please.

One thing I love about this Quattro (besides the obvious) is the hand-crank sunroof. I haven’t had to crank my own sunroof in years…decades. As the owner stated, he’s looking to put it on Bring A Trailer and we know what will happen there…the price will climb and climb. Speaking of price, the owner is looking for $32,000. Is that a good deal? It’s may be a great deal if you get it now before it goes on BAT. You can find this clean Quattro HERE.
