Wolfsburg, GERMANY – The new exhibition “Lenker von morgen” in the “Blickfeld”, the area of the former Metropolshop in the KonzernForum, is now open to guests of the Autostadt in Wolfsburg. The exhibition offers a fascinating insight into the history of the bicycle and its role as an important means of transport for humanity and at the same time reflects the connection of the bicycle to the brands of the Volkswagen Group.

Armin Maus, Chairman of the Management Board of Autostadt: “With ‘Lenker of Tomorrow’ we want to take our visitors into the fascinating world of bicycles and show their importance for the mobility of the future. Bicycles are a symbol of change and innovation and have a permanent place in the history of the Volkswagen Group.”

“Lenker of tomorrow” sheds light on the history of the bicycle on the basis of the brands of the Volkswagen Group, including ŠKODA, which started manufacturing two-wheelers under the name Laurin & Klement since 1895, as well as Porsche, Audi and Ducati, which are also deeply linked to bicycle history. The highlights include a children’s balance bike in GTI design, a historic Volkswagen factory bike and the Audi trick bike, supplemented by detailed diorams and informative texts.

Future-oriented prototypes and innovative concepts that offer insights into the latest developments to improve road safety and promote sustainable mobility will also be shown. Visitors can also experience how the bicycle of the future could feel on a virtual reality ride.

The exhibition “Lenker of tomorrow” is accessible daily during the opening hours of the Autostadt with a valid day or annual ticket.
