Audi is doubling down on its electric momentum by giving its best-selling Audi Q4 e-tron a meaningful upgrade aimed at everyday usability. The refreshed model pairs a sharper exterior and advanced lighting with a redesigned, more intuitive digital interior, while improvements in range and charging make it more practical than ever. But the real headline is functionality, the Q4 e-tron can now power external devices and even act as a home energy storage solution, marking a significant step forward in how Audi envisions EV ownership beyond just driving.
“With this product upgrade, the Audi Q4 e-tron is not only more modern and striking in appearance but also impresses with an improved interior,” says Marco Schubert, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing. “New features and numerous improvements to the vehicle make the electric entry point into the Audi brand even more attractive – for families and our fleet customers.”
Bidirectional Charging
The Audi Q4 e-tron is the first Audi with bidirectional charging. With Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), the car directly powers electric devices. It does so via a domestic power socket in the trunk (providing continuous power of 2.3 kW at 230 V AC) or an optional adapter on the side charging port with a domestic power socket (2.3 kW) or a camping power socket (3.6 kW). In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the Q4 e-tron is also ready for Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), where the high-voltage battery acts as supplementary home energy storage.
Audi has significantly boosted efficiency in the updated Audi Q4 e-tron thanks to a new rear-mounted electric motor and upgraded power electronics. The revised system improves efficiency by around 10 percent, delivering more torque and extended range across both rear-wheel and quattro models. Enhancements like silicon carbide semiconductors, smarter software, and reduced drivetrain friction all contribute to gains of up to 30 kilometers of additional range.

Exterior Design
Audi has given the Audi Q4 e-tron a sharper, more expressive design that leans into its sporty character. A wider stance, bold Singleframe grille, and sculpted bodywork enhance its presence, while functional air intakes improve aerodynamics. Subtle touches like a floating roof effect and redesigned rear spoiler add visual flair, with new colors and wheel options giving buyers even more ways to personalize their EV.
Audi is elevating nighttime presence in the Audi Q4 e-tron with advanced lighting tech that blends style and safety. New digital LED daytime running lights and second-generation OLED taillights offer customizable light signatures, giving the SUV a distinct identity on the road. Beyond aesthetics, features like proximity detection enhance safety, while dynamic lighting animations create a more interactive and high-tech driving experience.
Interior Design
Audi has transformed the interior of the Audi Q4 e-tron into a true tech-forward cockpit, centered around a sleek panoramic digital display that blends an 11.9-inch instrument cluster with a 12.8-inch touchscreen. An available 12-inch passenger display and augmented reality head-up display push the segment forward, layering navigation and driving data directly into the driver’s field of view.
Beyond the screens, the cabin delivers real everyday usability with multiple charging options, generous storage, and SUV-level space thanks to its dedicated EV platform. Premium materials, ambient lighting, and a Sonos sound system elevate the experience, while built-in apps and an AI-powered voice assistant make the Q4 e-tron feel more like a smart device on wheels than a traditional crossover.
Driver Assist Systems
Audi is boosting safety and convenience in the Audi Q4 e-tron with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. Standard features include adaptive cruise prep, lane assist, emergency braking, and driver monitoring. Available upgrades like Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus add semi-autonomous capabilities, including highway lane changes and enhanced lane guidance. Optional parking tech and 360-degree cameras further improve confidence, especially in tight urban environments.
Pricing
Audi will open European orders for the updated Audi Q4 e-tron in May, with deliveries starting this summer. In Germany, pricing begins at €47,500 for the SUV with the smaller battery and climbs to €55,450 for the Sportback with the larger pack. The lineup offers multiple configurations, giving buyers flexibility in range, performance, and style.
