Audi’s U.S. sales numbers for the third quarter of 2026 are in, and while the overall results aren’t exactly cause for celebration, there are some encouraging signs. Several of the brand’s newest and most popular models posted impressive double-digit gains, suggesting that Audi’s ongoing product offensive is beginning to gain traction with American buyers.

According to Audi of America’s latest sales report, the company delivered 39,751 vehicles during the third quarter, a 15 percent decline compared to the same period last year. Year-to-date sales reached 107,667 vehicles, down 16 percent. However, those numbers don’t tell the entire story.

2026 Audi Q5

The Audi A5 was one of the quarter’s biggest success stories. Deliveries jumped 53 percent to 5,315 vehicles, compared to 3,477 during the third quarter of 2025. The A3 performed even better in percentage terms, climbing 58 percent to 2,555 vehicles. Meanwhile, the A6 recorded a healthy 36 percent increase, with 1,789 deliveries.

Audi’s SUVs also provided plenty of reasons for optimism. The Q5 remained the brand’s best-selling model, with 11,371 deliveries, an increase of 17 percent. The Q3 followed with 6,960 sales, up 24 percent.

Audi A6

But the biggest percentage gain among Audi’s major SUV models came from the Q8. Sales more than doubled, jumping 103 percent to 4,095 vehicles. The Q7 also had a strong quarter, posting a 42 percent increase with 6,071 deliveries. Even the flagship A8 sedan enjoyed a 30 percent increase.

Not everything was positive, however. Several electric models experienced significant declines, including the Q6 e-tron, which fell 94 percent, and the e-tron GT, down 84 percent. The A6 Sportback e-tron also dropped 95 percent. Those declines contributed to the overall sales downturn despite the strong performance of Audi’s gasoline-powered models.

Audi Q8

Looking ahead, Audi has more new products on the way. The company should enter its next phase of U.S. growth with the introduction of the all-new Q9 and Q7, both inspired by the American market and scheduled to arrive in the fourth quarter.

For now, Audi still has some ground to make up. But with the A5, Q7, Q8, and several other models delivering substantial gains, there are encouraging signs that its refreshed lineup is finding an audience. The challenge will be turning those individual successes into growth for the brand as a whole.
