2026 is going to be a big year for Audi. Not just in terms of all the exciting things we are looking forward to, such as them joining the Formula 1 grid. But 2026 will also be a time to look back on some of the most significant milestones in Audi history. To help celebrate Audi Tradition has released “Anniversary Dates 2026,” a downloadable booklet in both German and English highlighting major historical milestones and anniversaries across Audi and its heritage brands.
Audi’s latest anniversary booklet traces major engine and motorsport milestones, from the 6.0-liter W12 debut in the Audi A8 25 years ago, to the iconic five-cylinder engine introduced 50 years ago, and the first German eight-cylinder production car by Horch 100 years ago. It also marks 125 years since August Horch built his first automobile and honors his legacy, including an early motorsport victory in 1906 and the upcoming 75th anniversary of his death in 2026.
“Anniversary Dates 2026” also celebrates Audi’s motorsport legacy, including NSU’s quadruple class victory at the first German Grand Prix in 1926, Auto Union’s dominant 1936 Grand Prix season, and Audi’s global touring car success in 1996, where the A4 quattro STW won championships across seven countries.
Further anniversaries compiled by Audi Tradition historians include: 30 years of the Audi A3, 35 years of the Audi Cabriolet, 45 years of the Audi research car, 50 years of the second-generation Audi 100, 70 years since the DKW 3=6 Monza record run, 70 years of the DKW Munga off-road vehicle, and 70 years of NSU speed records. A comprehensive overview of these milestones is provided in “Anniversary Dates 2026,” available in the Audi Media Center. To download a copy, click HERE.
