The Paris Motor Show’s press days are coming up next week, and given that Audi Sport has teased an expected reveal planned for the event. The photo above was posted by Audi Sport to Facebook confirming the reveal of what’s under the cover set for October 2.
What’s under the cover? That remains unclear. The rings on the hood narrow it down to either some sort of TT or R8. Proportionally, it appears to be an R8. Further, hood latches further up the bonnet suggest it’s some sort of racecar.
A facelift for the TT and TTS has been released in photos prior to the event. Another planned facelift for the R8 is expected soon, but is rumored not to make it to Paris. The aforementioned hood pins then are likely the more important clue.
Both the TT and the R8 have racecar versions built by Audi Sport customer racing. The R8 LMS has GT3 and GT4 spec variants already, while the TT has the TT Cup car. Updated versions of any of these built to account for updated bodywork might be the case. So too might be some sort of performance based “clubsport” production car or concept. Our last guess would be a TCR TT RS, but that may not make sense given the RS 3 LMS already competes in that class of racing.
