Audi Sport quattro Sale Set for Gooding & Company Amelia Island Auction

In case you were on the fence about heading to Amelia Island Concour week next month, or perhaps you were on the market for a Sport quattro, we felt it important to bring your attention to the Gooding & Company auction set to take place. The auction house just confirmed this week that it will indeed be selling a rare Group B homologation special, the Audi Sport quattro road car.

As many will tell you about the short wheelbase Sport quattro, it is a decidedly rare thing. 161 examples are said to have been built, and a very few were imported to the USA. This particular car, in perhaps the most iconic color red, was originally imported by Robert Fergus to the USA. It’s had three owners, two in the Fergus family, and has only covered about 25,000 miles.

This isn’t the only four-ringer planned for sale during Amelia Island car week. RM Sotheby’s will also be selling a 1936 Horch 853 Roadster (the same one sold by Gooding at last year’s event). And, though there aren’t any Audi specific events taking part during Amelia Island Concour Week, we still highly recommend it as an automotive interest getaway.

More information on the Audi Sport quattro being sold by Gooding & Company can be found on their website HERE. The Gooding & Company Amelia Island Auction is set to take place March 8, 2019, with viewing available on March 7-8. More information on the sale itself including times and locations can also be found HERE.
