Audi RS 6 Homage to RS2 Turns up at Amsterdam Motorshow

The Amsterdam Motorshow is going on right now and, without it being a major market auto show, you wouldn’t expect us to sit up and take notice of cars on display there. Frankly, it’s the first time we’ve made mention of the event on this blog, but an RS 6 Avant on the stand of Netherlands-based GP Products did just that.

Posted by Absolute Motors on Instagram, the car appears to be a Nogaro Blue RS 6 Avant ( a.k.a. @RS2.Hommage on Instagram) wearing a mix of upgrades likely sold by GP Products. There are the usual like a carbon fiber body kit and hexagonal weave interior carbon. What really grabbed our attention though was what makes the car a contender to the “homage” claim. There’s the literal in the form of a vintage RS2 badge on the back, and then also the wheels that are a modern and more convex reinterpretation of the original Porsche Cup 1 alloy wheel fitted to the RS2 back in the day.

Of course, Audi aimed to pay its own tribute to the RS2 with the European Nogaro Edition RS 6, and Audi of America had the RS Tribute edition. So, it begs the question, does this car do it better or worse than Audi’s own special editions?
