Formula 1 is back! Remember Formula 1? It seems like we were just getting into the groove when the plug was pulled on the April races, and the result was a month-long break. Well, break time is over and it is time to get racing again. This time the Audi Revolut F1 Team heads to Miami for their first race on American soil. What can we expect and what should we look out for?

As reminder, the Audi team is currently tied with Williams for 8th place in the Constructer’s Championship. They have been competitive but have only managed to score two points this year. Can they build on that in Miami? Well, that is one thing to look out for. Another will be new Racing Director, Allan McNish.

Changes in Miami

“This weekend, of course, is also a very proud moment for me as I step into this new role with the team. I have been part of this journey in different ways over the last few years, and I am looking forward to this next chapter as we continue to build our project,” said McNish.

As you are probably already aware, there have been drastic changes to the rules for 2026. And those rules continue to be tweaked. There will be changes for the Miami race which are actually quite complex for those that are not into the weeds of technical regulations.

In the simplest of terms, the FIA was looking to address four key areas. 1) Improving the qualifying experience, 2) Reducing the chances of dramatic closing speeds between cars leading to potentially devastating accidents in races, 3) Decreasing the likelihood of a collision at the start of the race, and 4) Pre-empting issues teams could face in wet racing conditions. In Miami there will also be plenty of fun to have off track. Audi Revolut F1 Team is bringing a full fan experience to Miami, transforming Wynwood’s MAPS Backlot into a high-energy hub from Thursday to Sunday. Fans can watch live sessions, enjoy DJ sets, try racing simulators, explore immersive tech experiences, and check out adidas merch, all alongside premium hospitality and partner activations.

We are all excited to have Formula 1 back and are looking forward to the weekend in Miami. Let’s see what the Audi team can do from here on out.
