We are mere weeks away from lights out in Melbourne and The Audi Revolut F1 Team has added another member. A post on the team Instagram page welcomed Swiss driver Ralph Boschung as the newest development driver.
The social media post didn’t offer much detail. “New development driver – Building the future with us.” Was the quote along with a picture of Boschung wearing Audi Revolut F1 Team gear. He joins Freddie Slater and F1 Academy driver Emma Felbermayr. The Slater and Felbermayr are long term development drivers where Boschung is expected to make immediate contributions.
The signing of Boschung can be considered a bit of a surprise. According to a report by AutoRacing1, Boschung has not raced full-time since 2023. He is a Formula 2 veteran with one race win and several podium finishes. The 28-year-old will help develop the R26 primarily through work on the simulator.
Boschung has over 100 Formula 2 race starts since 2017. His lone victory came at the Bahrain Sprint Race in 2023. He stepped away from racing at the end of the 2023 season. However, he stayed involved as a simulator driver for Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber. The team that is now Audi Revolut F1 Team.
