Audi Hands Off New EVs, Hybrids to FC Bayern Munich Squad and Gives Them a Formula 1 Sneak Peek

It’s good to be a member of the FC Bayern Munich squad nowadays. The team is currently undefeated and in first place in the Bundesliga league. To top it all off Audi delivered new company cars to the players for the upcoming season, offering a selection of fully electric and hybrid models. During the handover event, players participated in the Audi driving experience and received an exclusive look at the Audi F1 Project. Additionally, 100 Audi employees met the team and personally presented the keys to their new vehicles.

The toughest part for the players was choosing which car to drive. Captain Manuel Neuer and several teammates chose the Audi Q8 TFSI e quattro, while Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Michael Olise selected the all-electric RS e-tron GT performance. Young player Tom Bischof opted for the Q4 Sportback e-tron, and Joshua Kimmich chose the seven-seat Audi Q7 TFSI e quattro for his large family.

Driving the New Cars

“The FC Bayern players chose vehicles that impressively reflect the diversity of our range – from the compact Q4 e-tron series to the powerful Audi Q8 SUV TFSI e quattro and sporty RS e-tron GT performance. Everyone found a model that was right for them,” said Marco Schubert, Member of the Board for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG.

The players didn’t just get the keys to the new cars, but they also had the opportunity to drive them properly. They had access to the Audi driving experience’s dynamic driving area and handling course. The Audi RS e-tron GT performance was the star of the show there.

The exciting day still wasn’t over as Audi had another special treat in mind for the players, an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Audi F1 Project. The players visited the assembly workshop where the V6 hybrid engines are built, as well as the dynamic simulator. They gained insights into the complex technology behind the central components of the future Formula 1 powertrain.

Not a bad way to spend a day. It made us want to dust off our old soccer balls and practice again. You know, just in case FC Bayern is looking for any additional players.
