Everything is bigger in Texas, and Audi F1 is hoping that includes its points haul. After enjoying its strongest weekend of the 2026 Formula 1 season in Singapore, the Audi Revolut F1 Team heads to Austin, Texas, for the United States Grand Prix with renewed confidence and hopes of continuing its recent momentum.
The race takes place at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), one of the most popular venues on the Formula 1 calendar. Its combination of high-speed corners, technical sections, and dramatic elevation changes makes it a demanding test for both drivers and machinery. For Audi, it’s another opportunity to demonstrate how far the team has progressed during its inaugural season.
Building on Singapore Success
The team arrives in Austin following an encouraging performance in Singapore, where Nico Hülkenberg delivered valuable championship points in both the Sprint and Grand Prix. It was Audi’s highest-scoring weekend of the season and another indication that the team’s hard work is beginning to pay off. Of course, Formula 1 has a habit of reminding teams that yesterday’s success guarantees absolutely nothing tomorrow.
COTA presents a different challenge from Singapore’s tight street circuit. The Austin track features a steep climb into Turn 1, sweeping high-speed corners inspired by some of motorsport’s most famous circuits, and several heavy braking zones. Finding the right balance between straight-line speed, aerodynamic performance, and tire management will be critical.
Audi Looks to Keep the Momentum Going
Racing director Allan McNish and the rest of the Audi team will be looking to carry the positive momentum from Singapore into the American race weekend. The United States Grand Prix also begins an important stretch of racing in the Americas, providing another opportunity for Audi to gather valuable experience as it continues developing its Formula 1 program.
For Hülkenberg and teammate Gabriel Bortoleto, the objective is straightforward. Extract everything possible from the car, execute a clean weekend, and fight for another points finish. Audi’s first Formula 1 season has been about far more than individual race results. Every weekend provides valuable lessons as the manufacturer builds toward its long-term ambitions in the sport.
Still, there’s nothing quite like scoring championship points to demonstrate that progress is being made.
