APR Tuned RS 3 Runs Deeper into the 9s with a New Record

[source: APR]

APR has raised the bar once again, resulting in a new record for the 2.5 TFSI EVO platform. An exciting 9.722 second quarter mile elapsed time was achieved at Montgomery Raceway Park on July 16th, 2018 and backed up with five 9.7 second passes. Many may recall this is same vehicle that was the first RS3 into the 9’s, owned by Keith Brantley. Results were achieved using a new hybrid turbocharger and various upcoming APR hardware modifications on an unopened stock engine long-block and transmission, in a density altitude of roughly 3,000 FT.

Keith’s vehicle setup and modifications were as follows:

2018 Audi RS3 2.5 TFSI
– APR ECU / TCU Upgrade (Ethanol)
– SRM Drop-in Stock-Housing Turbo
– APR MPI Injectors with SRM LPFP
– APR Carbon Fiber Intake with APR Cast Inlet
– APR Intercooler
– APR Cast Downpipe with Downturns
– APR Subframe Insert
– APR Lowering Springs
– Forgeline Wheels with Hoosier DR2 Tires
– Seats / Trunk Tools Removed and LW Battery

Overall the outing was a success. Keith’s RS3 clenched a new personal best, and the new overall record for the platform. However, we’re not done yet! After pouring over the data, we’ve found several ways to improve the record by helping the vehicle transfer more of the new found power and torque to the track. Stay tuned for future updates!

Keith’s RS3 will be on display at Waterfest at Atco, NJ this weekend, July 21st and 22nd. Come visit and see the vehicle in person! For more information about APR’s lineup of ECU Upgrades for the RS3, please visit our product page.
