APR Brings an Audi S3 Sportback Over for Development

There have been photos of a stateside Euro-spec S3 Sportback (and a Euro-spec Volkswagen MK8 GTI) floating around and now we know the story. APR, the longtime tuner in the VW/Audi scene, imported both from Germany. Chatting with APR’s Brand Manager, Arin Ahnell, he explained that they were bought in Germany and APR Deutschland and APR partner, Stoll Automotive, had begun development on both.

However with the pandemic still raging and hampering travel, APR decided to import the vehicles over to the States because development through surrogates was difficult. Both cars will have APR parts that some will bolt right on but others have to be created from the ground up. What better way to do that than to have the cars in front of you? Luckily for us, APR will more than likely have these on the road testing parts and perhaps we’ll be able to see them at various car shows once the season rolls around…at least that’s what I’m hoping for. Anyway, enjoy the walk around video Arin sent me and drool over the unobtainable that is the S3 Sportback. We can’t wait to see what APR will unleash on us.
