Do you love Audi race cars? Of course you do. And now is your chance to own some of the most historically significant in Audi history. Albeit in plastic brick form. Lego just revealed the new Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 Race Car. And Cobi Bricks announced the future release of several legendary Audi Quattro models from the 1980s. Get your credit card ready!
Late last year Lego quietly added an F1 display truck with Audi F1 race car to the Lego City collection. The car wore the color scheme of the R26 concept. But earlier this week in Berlin the R26 in full race livery was revealed. And the new Lego set is that race-ready car.
It is part of the Speed Champions collection and is available for pre-order now. The set will cost $27.99 and will ship on March 1. So, if you are lucky, you will have it in your hands before the first race of the season. The set consists of 216 pieces. This Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 Race Car toy features a cockpit, rear wing, authentic sponsor logos, front wheel suspension and tires imprinted with “Pirelli.” It also comes with a minifigure in an Audi Revolut F1 Team outfit and a helmet. When built the car will measure 1.5 inches high, 7.5 inches long and 3 inches wide.
Cobi Bricks has signed a new deal with Audi and can now sell Audi-licensed models. The first sets are scheduled to be released in the first half of this year. The first release will consist of five different sets. The smallest sets are 80-piece 1980 Audi Quattro models. One in red and the other in white.
Part of the initial release also includes a 1981 Audi Quattro Group 4 rally car that is 165 pieces. The remaining two sets are of the 1985 Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2. One set includes just the 148-piece car. The other set is 230 pieces and includes a car, a minifigure driver and a podium. All sets are 1:35 scale. Pricing has yet to be announced. Have fun building!
