Audi R8 LMS Scores Global GT3 Victories, RS 3 LMS Lands Class Title in China

The Audi R8 LMS showcased global strength in September with overall victories in Italy, China, and New Zealand, plus class titles in Thailand and in the Michelin 24H Series Europe. While Audi teams narrowly missed two TCR titles in Europe, they secured a class win in China.

Audi R8 LMS GT3 Highlights

Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Sprint – Victory in Italy

At Imola, Tresor Attempto Racing earned its first overall sprint victory in the Italian GT Sprint with drivers Rocco Mazzola and Fabio Rauer charging from seventh on the grid to win by 1.2 seconds. The team also secured GT3 amateur class success, taking second in race one and a win in race two, building a 31-point lead in the amateur title fight.

China GT Championship – Overall and Class Victories

At the China GT Championship finale in Shanghai, Winhere Harmony Racing’s Andy Deng powered the Audi R8 LMS to overall victory, overcoming a long solo pit stop and winning by 10.6 seconds. Audi teams also claimed multiple class wins: Incipient Racing took Masters honors, BC Racing by 610 won GTC Pro-Am, and celebrity Wang Yibo drew attention with a podium in Am class. The second race brought further trophies, with Deng top Pro, another Masters win for Xiao Min/Air Tong, and third in GT3 Am for 610Racing.

Thailand Super Series – An Early Class Win

At the Thailand Super Series’ fourth weekend in Sepang, B-Quik Absolute Racing’s Aaron Lim and Haziq Oh secured the GT3 Am class title early by winning both races. The duo also finished second overall in race two, making them unbeatable in the standings ahead of November’s finale.

Michelin 24H Series Europe – Audi Sport Customer Racing Scored Another Class Title

Audi Sport customer racing earned another title in the Michelin 24H Series Europe as Continental Racing by Simpson Motorsport secured the GT3 Am championship with a podium at the Barcelona 24 Hours. Juta Racing finished second in the standings, while Haas RT achieved the best overall Audi result with P2. Saintéloc Junior Team also added a Pro-Am podium, with all four Audi teams leading at various points and logging 256 laps at the front.

South Island Endurance Series – Start to Finish Victory

At the South Island Endurance Series opener in New Zealand, Steve Brooks and Bill Riding claimed victory in the Audi R8 LMS after leading the entire 3-hour race in Christchurch. Smart pit strategy and fuel-saving in the final laps secured a narrow 0.567-second win over a Lamborghini. Another Audi R8 LMS, driven by Luke Manson and James Penrose, finished third to complete a double podium.

International GT Open – Keeping Title Hopes Alive

Eastalent Racing kept the International GT Open title fight alive in Barcelona. Defending champions Christopher Haase and Simon Reicher climbed from sixth to second in race one and finished seventh in race two, just ahead of rival Levente Révész. With only a five-point gap, they remain contenders heading into the Monza finale. Team I.S.R. added a Pro-Am podium with Libor Milota and Filip Salaquarda finishing third in race one.

GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup – Podium Worthy Season

At the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup finale in Valencia, Audi customer teams earned strong season finishes. Gilles Magnus and Paul Evrard took third in the Gold Cup race and secured third overall in both driver and team standings with Saintéloc Racing. In the Silver Cup, Alex Aka and Tresor Attempto Racing also clinched third in the championship.

Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie – Three Class Podium Finishes

At the ninth round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, the Audi R8 LMS earned three class podiums. Team Max Kruse Racing debuted an R8 LMS in the AT1 alternative powertrain class, winning the category on E20 biofuel and finishing fourth overall, just 0.517 seconds off the podium. Juta Racing secured second in Pro-Am, while équipe vitesse claimed third in SP9 Am.

British GT Cup – Customer Team Scores Three Podiums

In the fifth round of the British GT Cup at Donington, PB Racing with JMH scored three podiums in the Audi R8 LMS: Marcus Clutton and Peter Erceg finished third in Race 1 and second in Races 2 and 3.

TCR Europe – Just Short of a Title

Audi privateer Teddy Clairet narrowly missed the TCR Europe 2025 title in a dramatic finale, ending tied on points with champion Jenson Brickley. Both had two wins, but Brickley’s higher number of second-place finishes gave him the edge. Teddy, who had led the series earlier, finished second in the drivers’ standings ahead of his brother Jimmy, while their team, Clairet Sport, secured second in the team standings.

TCR Eastern Europe – Another Second Place Finish

In TCR Eastern Europe, Audi driver Martin Kadlečík finished second in the overall standings and won the junior classification after a dramatic finale at Balaton Park, Hungary. Despite collisions with rivals and on-track incidents, he secured strong results, with his team, Aditis Racing, finishing second in the team standings.

TCR European Endurance – Maintaining Series Lead

In the third round of the TCR European Endurance Series at Vallelunga, several Audi customer teams excelled. Alessandro Alcidi and Yuri Brigliadori finished third overall in the BF Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS, keeping Brigliadori six points ahead in the standings. In the DSG classification, Tuder Motorsport’s Emilio Damante and Edoardo Maccari claimed victory, followed by Texaco Team AMS’s Berk Kalpaklioglu and Umut Göktas.

IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge – Podium at Indy

In the ninth IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge round at Indianapolis, Audi customer team Precision Racing LA secured a podium finish. Ryan Eversley and Celso Neto qualified second in the TCR category and finished the two-hour race in second place, just 6.9 seconds behind the winner.

TCR China Challenge – An Early Title

In the TCR China Challenge, Liu Zichen clinched the title early at the fifth round in Shanghai, winning the first race and finishing third in the second race with his Audi RS 3 LMS, holding a 101-point lead over Honda’s Sun Ju Ran.

Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie – A One-Two Finish

At the ninth Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie round, Max Kruse Racing scored a one-two finish in the AT3 class with Audi RS 3 LMS cars, while Armando and Dario Stanco won the SP3T class. In TCR, Møller Bil Motorsport secured second place, followed by Goroyan RT by sharky-racing, both in Audi RS 3 LMS vehicles.

Supercar Challenge – Two Wins and a Podium

At the sixth Supercar Challenge round in Zandvoort, Lorenzo van Riet excelled in the SuperSport Division, finishing second in race one and claiming class wins in the next two races with his Audi RS 3 LMS.

GT2 European Series – Two Podiums

In the GT2 European Series fifth event in Valencia, Luca Pirri’s Audi R8 LMS GT2 secured two Am Cup podiums, including a second-place overall finish in race two after a close battle with Petr Lisa.

DMV NES GP – Dominant Win

Tobias Erdmann and Bernd Schaible won the fifth DMV NES GP round at Lausitzring with Seyffarth Motorsport, dominating in their Audi R8 LMS GT4 with a one-lap lead over BMW competitors.

DMV Super Touring GT Cup – Podiums in Sprint Races

Erdmann and Schaible added two more podiums in the DMV Super Touring GT Cup sprints, with Erdmann winning Cup 4 in the first race and finishing second in the second race alongside Schaible.

China GT Championship – Two Second Place Finishes

In the China GT Championship finale in Shanghai, Audi customer team Incipient Racing secured two second place finishes in the GTS Pro-Am class with drivers He Baifeng and Li Jiahao in the Audi R8 LMS GT4.
