From GT to TCR: Audi Customer Teams Set the Pace Worldwide

Audi’s customer racing teams delivered a wave of strong performances around the world, with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 leading the charge. In Italy, the Tresor Attempto Racing team secured a decisive lead in the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Endurance standings ahead of the final race. The R8 LMS GT3 teams achieved victories and podiums across multiple continents. The series also produced an emotional moment at the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS in Sandown. Brendon Leitch drove a memorial lap in the Audi R8 LMS in honor of his teammate Tim Miles, who was killed in a cycling accident on July 6.

In the TCR Italy series the Audi RS 3 LMS delivered a dominating performance at Imola to close the gap in the overall championship battle. Further east, Martin Kadlečík closed the gap in the title race in TCR Eastern Europe. Meanwhile in North America, Audi scored another TCR class podium in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. In GT4 racing Audi customer teams locked up multiple wins and podiums in Germany and South Africa. Overall, Audi’s global customer racing programs are showing strength across every discipline.

Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Endurance Series – Clear Championship Lead

Tresor Attempto Racing now leads the standings by 19 points after a strong P2 finish in the three-hour race on the Grand Prix circuit in Emilia-Romagna. The final race in Mugello is coming up in mid-September.

GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS – Multiple Podiums at Sandown

Broc Feeney and Brad Schumacher consolidated their second place in the standings with two podium finishes. In the first race, the driver duo finished third in the Kelso Electrical Team MPC Audi R8 LMS. In the second race, Feeney/Schumacher moved up from sixth to second place. With two events remaining, the duo are second in the standings, 31 points behind the leaders.

Paul Stokell and Matt Stoupas won the Trophy classification in both races for KFC Team MPC in an Audi, Renee Gracie secured second place on Saturday and victory in the amateur classification on Sunday. She extended her lead in this classification to 74 points in the Audi R8 LMS.

GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup – Closing the Gap

Paul Evrard and Gilles Magnus scored 11.5 points more than Ferrari’s Chris Lulham and Thierry Vermeulen, the leaders in the standings, with a fourth place and a victory in the two sprints at their team’s home race in Magny-Cours. Third place went to Leonardo Moncini and Sebastian Øgaard in a Tresor Attempto Racing Audi R8 LMS.  Saintéloc Racing achieved another podium finish in the second race in the Silver Cup: Ivan Klymenko/Lorens Lecertua finished third in the Audi R8 LMS. The final race will be at the end of September in Valencia.

Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy – First Win of Season

Driving the CCS Racing Team’s Audi R8 LMS, Thomas Westarp secured his first victory of the season.

GT Cup Series – Triple Podium

The FullinRace by Interaction team achieved three podium finishes in Most, including two class wins.

British GT Cup Championship – Best Weekend Yet

PB Racing with JMH enjoyed its most successful weekend to date. At the fourth event in Silverstone, Peter Erceg and Marcus Clutton drove the Audi R8 LMS to second place overall in each of the three races.

Super Taikyu Series – P2 in Poor Conditions

Hitotsuyama Racing achieved its best result of the season so far with the Audi R8 LMS in the fifth round at Autopolis finishing second. Strong winds with changing weather conditions and safety car phases made for a difficult day.

South African Endurance Series – Another Podium

Stradale Motorsport finished P3 in the 4-hour Kyalami race.

Audi RS 3 LMS TCR Highlights

TCR Italy – Title Fight Tightens

Nicolas Taylor reduced his gap to championship leader Nicola Baldan from 28 to 6 points. Taylor won race 2 in Imola for his third win of the season. Audi RS 3 LMS cars swept the top four spots in race 2. Audi drivers led multiple driver class standings including Master, Rookie and Under-25.

TCR Italy DSG – Podiums and Class Wins

Gustavo Sandrucci and Mattia Lancelotti both claimed podiums. Sandrucci also won the Master class on Saturday and Sunday. Audi private driver Giacomo Prandelli from Aikoa Racing was the best Rookie driver both days.

TCR Eastern Europe – Home Win at Most

Martin Kadlečík closed the gap to championship leader Adam Kout to just two points in his Audi. The Czech driver won the first race in difficult conditions at his home circuit in Most in his RS 3 LMS. In race 2 Audi drivers came home in P2 and P3.

IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge – Road America Podium

On the Road America circuit in Wisconsin, Luke Rumburg/Jaden Conwright crossed the finish line in the Audi RS 3 LMS after two hours of racing, just 3.2 seconds behind to secure P2.

GT4 Highlights

Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy – Close Win and a Podium

Jürgen Hemker secured his fourth victory of the season with a class win in Oschersleben. Magdeburger Börde, the private driver in the Audi R8 LMS GT4 needed only a 0.287-second lead over an Aston Martin to win the first race.

South African Endurance Series – 4 Hours, Second Place

Ant Blunden/Gianni Giannoccaro/Ricky Giannoccaro finished second in class B in their Audi R8 LMS GT4 after four hours of racing in Kyalami.
