It’s not every day you come across a cache of rare automobilia for sale on an auction site. But when you do, you grab it. That’s exactly what we did when a stack of circa-1987 Audi Pike’s Peak window decals popped up online. To our delight, they were well preserved and in great condition. We peeled one back, installed it on one of our own cars’ windows and were immediately transported back to a time when MTV still played music videos.
Originally produced to promote Audi’s 1987 Pike’s Peak Hillclimb victory by Walter Röhrl, these new old stock (NOS) decals are identical to the one found on the actual race-winning car on display last summer at the Rolex Monterey Historic. They mount from the inside, so feel free to stick yours to your favorite quattro without fear of sacrificing it to the elements.
