The Chris Schelble Memorial Driving Event!

August 16th-18th 2020

It’s time for our driving to go “Viral” – virtual track activities are great but this is the real deal!

This premier High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) event will be held on Sunday August 16th (Details to be finalized) – Tuesday August 18th at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin – America’s “National Park of Speed”! This Wisconsin Audi Club Driver’s School offers participants two days of HPDE instruction for novice, intermediate and advanced driver groups on one of the finest road courses in the world!

NOTE: Sunday activities are currently in flux as we deal with the restrictions and details of the COVID-19 situation, but we are working on a get together, any last minute tech problems, and our usual meeting…although this year it will have plenty of non-contact and social distancing thrown into the mix.

On Monday you’ll spend the day at the track learning and practicing our driving skills. This year for novices we will incorporate some sophisticated lead follow and corner observation learning strategies and some other innovations in the classroom and on the track. We are still working out the details for a Monday night banquet dinner that will allow camaraderie and safety…currently working on an outdoor venue with plenty of room and weather safety options. We’ll keep you posted!

Then everyone will grab some good sleep – Tuesday morning you’ll be back at the track for more instruction with challenging and fun driving sessions.

Road America is a four-mile road course opened in 1950 and features 14 turns, three fast straights, and challenging features such as The Kink and The Carousel. Road & Track magazine has named Road America as one of the top racetracks in North America several times.

In 2018 they said “Some people still call Road America the center of road racing in North America. It also has everything that makes up a great track, like elevation change, long straights, a variety of corner types and amazing scenery.”

This is a course that should be on your bucket list if it is not already!

COVID-19 Preparation at our Road America Event staff.

Your personal health & safety on the track and as a participant in this event are of utmost importance to us in the Wisconsin Chapter of the ACNA.We will be designing the registration, meetings, classrooms and instruction, etc., to comply with all necessary local and state restrictions (if any are still in place) and US Federal, Health Canada & CDC COVID-19 guidelines that apply to ensure the complete safety of our participants and staff.

In addition, there may be special restrictions and guidelines we will need to meet for track

specific Safety Protocols in place at Road America. As portions of the US and states have begun to reopen, these guidelines have been constantly in flux over the last few months.

Please be assured that we will provide you with the most up-to-the-date information you will need in a timely fashion prior to the event.
