If you’re friends with George on Facebook (or in real life), you may know that he bought a new-to-him Audi in Sweden and had it shipped over. This Audi? I like to call it Frankenstein though George prefers Elly. Why do I/George call it Frankenstein/Elly? Well…just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale; a tale of a monster Audi 100 S Coupé.
What you see here and in the video is a 1972 Audi 100 Coupé S…with a 4.2 V8 and quattro swapped in from a donor 1995 European V8 S4. I won’t go into a lot of details as George will be telling the story of this monster in n upcoming issue of quattro Magazine. I was there when he found it on Facebook on some obscure old Audi page, when he was hesitant to wire the money to an unknown guy in Sweden, and finally, when it showed up at Jamie’s shop (Orchid Euro) in Pottstown, PA.
Unfortunately, I haven’t heard it yet but we can all hear it together thanks to this video that Jamie & SoloWerks Coilovers put together. Put the headphones on and crank it to 11.
