SEMA 2025 Recap: 675-HP APR Stage 3 Audi RS 3 and a Porsche Macan With Audi RS 7 Power

You have to love SEMA. The vehicle builds that you see there are like nothing else in the world. And SEMA 2025 featured a couple builds that Audi fans are sure to love. In one corner we have the 675-horsepower APR Stage 3 Audi RS 3. This amazing RS 3 is enhanced with the entire APR RS 3 parts catalog. In the other corner we have a Porsche Macan drift car. A drift Macan is noteworthy enough, but when you realize this SUV packs Audi RS 7 power things get a lot more interesting. Let’s take a closer look at each of these SEMA specials.

APR Stage 3 Audi RS 3

We start with the APR Stage 3 Audi RS 3. A stock Audi RS 3 is already a brilliant sports sedan. Some will argue that it is the best RS car in the current Audi lineup. Especially when you factor in its approachable starting price. But the APR Stage 3 adds between nearly 50 and 70 percent more power, a more buttoned-down suspension, and upgraded brakes. It turns the smile-inducing stock RS 3 into a full-on laugh riot.

For APR the goal of the stage 3 build was to create something that retained the OEM attributes in terms of feel, drivability and reliability. In other words, this is not some high strung, temperamental build that is going to be uncomfortable to drive every day and only last about as long as the reign of King Louis XIX. Despite the significant increase in performance, the APR Stage 3 RS 3 will be a car that you can and will want to drive every single day.

Power Upgrade

Let’s talk about power. A combustion engine makes its power by detonating a fuel/air mixture. APR brings more air and fuel to the RS 3. The air comes from a Full Carbon Intake that increases air flow by 34 percent over stock. Additional fuel is delivered via the APR 980cc MPI Injector Kit. APR ignition coils and spark plugs get the party started. Controlling it all is a Stage 3 ECU upgrade. Bigger explosion equals more power. On E85 this kit produces 675 horsepower at the crank. On 93 octane you can expect 592 horsepower. That is a power boost that you are going to feel.

But as the old Pirelli advertising slogan says, power is nothing without control. The APR Stage 3 build includes a whole host of suspension upgrades. The spring rates have been increased, along with the overall handling of the car. Individual components include upgraded front and rear sway bars, ball joint and spherical roll-control end links and more. The result is a more stable and better handling car.

Braking and Other Details

If you peak behind the APR A02 Hyper Silver wheels you will notice another upgrade. The car needs sufficient whoa to match its enhanced go. To that end, the car is fitted with a 6-piston big brake kit. The kit also includes Stainless Steel brake lines for enhanced durability and brake feel.

Drift Porsche Macan

Now we turn our attention to the Porsche Macan. Or maybe we should call it the “Audsche Macan RS” as this build combines the Porsche Macan with the heart of an Audi RS 7. The Macan is the best-selling model in the Porsche lineup. And as great as it is as a sporty compact SUV, we can all agree that the Macan is not the spiciest piece of schnitzel to come out of the Porsche kitchen.

The good folks at FCP Euro are looking to change all of that with their FCP Euro Drift Macan. According to a post on the FCP Euro Facebook page, the TSH Auto crew has spent an entire year building this custom SUV. You may be wondering what took so long. Well, this is not some paint and sticker job, this Macan will be doing service as a drift machine throughout 2026.

Audi Power

The most powerful combustion-powered Macan in the current lineup is the Macan GTS with a stout 434 horsepower from a twin-turbo 2.9L V6. Hmmm, a twin-turbo 2.9L V6, does that sound familiar? It should, the engine was developed with Audi and powered several Audi models such as the last generation RS 5. But FCP Euro decided to stuff a bigger, more powerful Audi engine in the Drift Macan. This one-off build gets a twin-turbo 4.0L V8 from the Audi RS 7. The result is a Macan that puts 600 horsepower to the wheels. And that is just the beginning of the story.

There is a slew of 034 Motorsport upgrades throughout the entire vehicle. This includes 034Motorsport S34 Intake System, heat exchanger, RS+ Front Big Brake Kit, and rear 2-piece rotors. Want more? How about custom 3-way dampers and an air-jack system supplied by AST x Moton Suspension. The compact SUV rides on Rotiform wheels with some serious negative camber up front.

More Details

The Macan looks more muscular than any stock version thanks to the custom widebody kit and aerodynamic bits such as the front and rear spoilers. The inside is all racecar serious thanks to the removal of all creature comforts and the installation of a roll cage. But don’t worry, you can still take the kids to school in it thanks to two racing bucket seats in the back. Who said a drift car can’t be practical? Lucky all seats are equipped with a racing harness because the hydraulic handbrake offers a clue of what this SUV is really capable of.
