Well this is something new. First of all, I can't remember when I've actually featured a FOTD from Craigslist (remember when we could find all the cool stuff there?) and secondly, a collection of 8 DKWs for sale? Here's the ad:
I lost my lease and need to sell all these DKW's. The past owner lost some engine blocks. There are only 3 or 4 blocks. I have all the heads and carbs, trannys etc. There are 8 cars....

I'll admit...I'm no historian when it comes to Audi history. Sure, I know about Auto Union, Wanderer, Audi, Horch, NSU, and DKW. In 1932, DKW merged with Audi, Horch, and Wanderer to form Auto Union. After World War Two, Auto Union (based in Saxony) found itself in East Germany. In 1949, it was reformed in West Germany as Auto Union GmbH. In 1957, Auto Union was under the Daimler-Benz umbrella and then was...

Well this is new...or rather old. We've featured an Auto Union DKW F89L van before as a Find of the Day but I've never seen a pickup version such as this restored model. This one is in Argentina where apparently its lived its whole life...but you can bring this one home as it's well past the 25-year import law in the States (& 15 year in Canada). Here's the ad:

I was really excited...I found a pristine Mars Red 1983 Audi Quattro that was perfect; started to write about it, and then...thought to search on our website to see if I had posted it before and lo and behold, I did back in September 2019. I was fooled by new photos of the Quattro. Oh well...it's still for sale if anyone is interested.
However, this Find of the Day I know I've never feature...

Logo? Logo! That is what Auto Union AG thought when it was founded almost 90 years ago. How four companies became four rings and a global brand, which later became AUDI AG. And why sand painting in logo design is so important:
"A logo is good when you can scratch it in the sand with your big...

For those hoping to build an esoteric collection of vintage Audi models, we have just the thing. A 1963 DKW Munga Jeep has popped up as a lot in the Lucky Collector Car Auctions Spring Classic. While not exceptionally rare in Europe, few of these Jeep-like 4x4s ever made it to the USA and so they're a treat when encountered.
Like many post war pre-turbocharger Audi models, the Munga isn't the fastest option in this segment. It sports a 2-stroke 3-cylinder engine with 900cc displacement. A...

Long before Chevrolet built their "Monza" automobile (1975-1980), Auto Union (via DKW) built a "Monza" sports car in the 1950's!
Never heard of the Auto Union "3=6 Monza"? Very few people have, especially h...
