Audi is working on a facelift for the Q5 as there have been prototypes seen running around for awhile but in addition to a refreshed look, there is a new body style.
What you see here is the first photos of the Audi Q5 Sportback. Following the Q3 Sportback and the e-tron Sportback, this will be the third SUV/crossover with the sleeker and coupe-ish Sportback body style in the line-up (unless you count the Q8 that’s only available in the sportier shape).
The technical parts of the Q5 Sportback will mirror those of the regular Q5 as well as the interior which is also getting an update with the facelift as seen in our earlier photos. With the facelifted Q5 being revealed in the second half of 2020, we could also see the Q5 Sportback make its debut before this year’s end.
The Q5 Sportback is aimed against the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. Both BMW and Mercedes already have a lead on the market so it could be a hard nut to crack but us Americans seem to love crossovers/SUVs…and Audi.
