A last ”Hurrah” to the R8 or just some performance parts?
Audi Sport didn’t show any performance parts for the facelifted R8 yet (only the pre-facelift was available with these parts) but we spotted a prototype in the snow with all the performance parts fitted and that of course raises some questions.
We know Audi is planning some more special edition models of the R8 for a 2022 debut (Audi R8 RWD GT?) and this one could be a prototype for one of those edition models. A last hurrah for the V10 model before its time to soon retire and possible be re-born as a EV model.
The parts mounted on this prototype are basically the same as we have seen on the pre-facelift versions but the front lip look slightly different.
But at this point we cant really tell if this actually is an upcoming edition model or if Audi decided to develop the performance parts for the facelifted model as well.
If you ask us we don’t really see a point of winter testing the R8 with the performance parts as the only change. Hopefully there is more news under that hood.
Either way it gives the R8 a more track focused appearance.
