Light is more than vision and therefore safety. Around 120 years after the introduction of electrical headlights in cars, these are a central part of the vehicle design. Over the years the quality as well as flexibility of the lights has evolved. Light bulls dominated the last century but were quickly replaced by LED, HD-Matrix and laser light technology. Lighting at Audi means creating an exceptional design that is highly functional and thus provides the vehicles a dominant character.
Audi heralds the era of OLED lights with the Audi prologue at the L.A. Auto Show 2015, which went into series-production with the Audi TT RS in 2016. Audi seamlessly builds on this previous success by launching the Audi e-tron Sportback at the Auto Show 2019 in Los Angeles. This new lighting technology will then illuminate the paths of the Audi customers’.
