Pinch me, I must be dreaming…the day is here. The day we dreamt about. Begged Audi of America for. The day we all thought was impossible.

Today is the day the United States of America gets their first RS Avant.

Months of rumors, spy shots, and just overall excitement have taken over since it was confirmed. The RS 6 Avant has now arrived in Malibu, CA for its unofficial North American debut.

A few days prior to the event, we received confirmation that, at the next Malibu Cars and Coffee, Audi would be bringing the RS 6… and not just one but two!

This wasn’t your typical vehicle debut to be honest. Most manufacturers wait until a big auto show or host a special event, but Audi did it different and I love that. Audi went to the enthusiasts instead of having the enthusiasts come to them. You didn’t need to get a special invitation or a press pass…you just went to Cars and Coffee like you always do and show up early if you want a good spot like many tend to do. It was an open invite. You could bring yourself, your kids, your grandma; anyone you wanted.

This was the best way to interact with potential customers that will be buying the car. You give them a chance to see all the details in person. Both Audi of America and Audi AG had employees out on the grass answering questions about pricing, options, technical specifications, and anything related to the RS 6.

I hope Audi does more events like this. For the enthusiasts. For the people that will be buying the car. If you missed it here, you had another chance to see it at the LA Autoshow. And if you missed it there, we hear the RS 6 will be doing even more cars and coffee events in 2020 alongside the RS 7 and RS Q8. Stay tuned.
