Audi Club is pleased to confirm that legendary Audi Sport Le Mans driver Tom Kristensen will attend and take part in Audi Club Nationals 2019 planned for October 16-20 in the Washington, DC metro area and near Audi of America headquarters.
In the world of sportscar racing and Le Mans, there is no more winning driver than Tom Kristensen. The 52-year old Dane won Le Mans no less than nine times, with eight of those victories logged at the wheel of an Audi and a stunning six of those wins performed in succession. Kristensen’s final win came in 2013, a year he also was crowned champion of the FIA World Endurance Championship series.
Kristensen remains a key part of the Audi Sport family. Today he works with Audi Sport customer racing, most recently having driven the all-new Audi R8 LMS GT2 up the hill at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed and on track at the 2019 Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion.
The 2019 Audi Club Nationals will take place on Audi of America’s home turf of northern Virginia. In addition to enjoying all the Washington, D.C. metro region has to offer, the 2019 Audi Club Nationals event will also boast unforeseen participation by Audi of America, including events designed to mix Audi staff with Audi enthusiasts in a relaxed environment, and maybe even on track at the event’s high-performance driving event at Summit Point.
A certain climax to the Audi Club Nationals will be a gala event at the Smithsonian Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Air & Space museum facility in Northern, Virginia where Tom Kristensen and some other truly surprising guests will be featured.
