A statement to the Audi Club Northwest from Audi of America:
As you may know, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board have recently issued notices of violation for two different VW Group engines: the 2.0L and 3.0L TDI diesel engines. These engines appear in several Audi models, including the A3, A6, A7, A8, A8L, Q5 and Q7.
Here are a few points that the Audi of America team wants you, as part of Audi Club North America, to know – from Scott Keogh and the entire Audi of America organization.
First, Audi of America deeply apologizes for this situation — we understand that people are upset.
Second, we are working as quickly as possible to make this right and we are fully cooperating with the relevant agencies. We will provide updates as they are available. All of the affected TDI models are legal and safe to drive, according to the regulatory authorities. TDI drivers don’t need to take any action until further notice.
Third, Audi of America will do what it takes to regain your trust. For additional information, please go to audiusa.com/about/diesel-information.
Finally, the passion of Audi owners has and continues to be the brand’s greatest asset. The entire Audi of America team thanks our loyal fans, and especially Audi Club members, for your dedication. We would appreciate your patience and understanding now and into the future.
