JDC-Miller MotorSports Cadillac DPI driver Chris Miller to join seasoned TCR driver Britt Casey Jr. in the Unitronic No.17 Audi RS3 LMS TCR, as Canadian Tire Motorsport Park winner Mikey Taylor steps out to focus on business obligations and the team’s program for 2020.
Miller will be joining Casey after a very successful event with the car back at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. There, Taylor put the car on pole, qualifying it 0.6 of a second ahead of the TCR field. Then after having some issues in the pit lane, Casey was able to bring the #17 Audi across the line to take the victory pulling off one of the best comebacks in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge history! The JDC-Miller MotorSports team is excited to get the #17 Audi back on track after not running at Lime Rock, where their teammates, Michael Johnson, and Stephen Simpson placed 2nd in the Michelin Pilot Challenge in the #54 Audi.
“Britt, Mikey, and all the JDC-Miller guys have been doing such a great job all year and It’s been fun to watch their success. It’s not often you get the chance to join a proven race-winning program mid-season so I will be working my hardest to make the most of the opportunity and to help the team achieve another strong result. The TCR car looks like a blast to drive and I can’t wait to get on track in just a few days!” said the Minnesota native. Miller brings a wealth of experience to the car, having competed at the highest levels of IMSA racing and winning the 2016 24 hours of Daytona in a JDC-Miller run LMPC.
The change in driver lineup also highlights a change within the program which Taylor contributes to his overall vision for the Michelin Pilot Challenge side of JDC-Miller Motorsports. “I would love to drive and have another shot at victory, but ultimately myself and my partners have the bigger picture in mind here, and I need time to work on my businesses and our racing plans for 2020. I have all the confidence in the world in the crew, Britt and Chris to take our car to the sharp end of the field!”
Also new for this weekend is a partnership with local Audi dealership Continental Audi which will make their debut into professional racing. The Naperville, Illinois based dealership has partnered with the team to showcase the performance and agility available not only on the Audi Sport Customer Racing cars, but also the Audi Sport street cars such as the RS3, TTRS, RS5 and R8 which are available on their showroom floor.
