8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Audi enthusiasts, you have been asking for a High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) and now you have an opportunity to enjoy a track day in pleasant October weather. Apex Driving Academy opens registration on Tuesday, September 11 for a High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) scheduled for Saturday, October 27 beginning at 8:00 A.M. at Motor Sport Ranch in Cresson, Texas just outside of Fort Worth. Please note, this event is open to the public and the limited number of open slots will fill quickly. You are encouraged to sign up as soon as registration opens to secure a slot. This is your chance to learn as a Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced Driver how to maximize your own Audi and driving experience under the supervision of professional instructors.
Basic requirements include:
– Licensed drivers aged 16 and up
– Helmet, rated Snell 2015 or better (you can rent one for $20 if you do not have one)
– Your car (sedan, coupe, station wagon, etc.) No SUVS, pick-ups, or vans permitted
You will need to perform a Tech Inspection on your car (tech inspection sheet available on Apex Driving Academy website). This inspection can be done by you, your friends, or any qualified mechanic. Note that in-car fire extinguisher is no longer required.
BYOC (Bring Your Own Car) allows individuals to use their own cars for high performance driving school at the Motor Sport Ranch. The program caters to many drivers – beginner to advanced. Apex Driving Academy provides three separate levels grouped by experience, each with their own curriculum – Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. The single day program provides classroom instruction sessions along with up to 2 hours of track time. Track sessions are spread throughout the day so you can learn in the classroom and then practice what you’ve learned on the track. The learning is progressive, so by the end of the track event you will have come a long way!
The Novice program is for drivers who are new to driving on a racing circuit, or only have one or two previous events. The program includes classroom instruction throughout the day, on-track drills to help you learn some basic skills before you drive at speed, in-car instruction, and of course several sessions at speed.
The Intermediate program is tailored towards drivers who have mastered the basics, and includes classroom instruction throughout the day with helpful feedback on techniques and driving lines, as well as in-car instruction and driver evaluation.
The Advanced program is for experienced drivers. In-car instruction is still available and encouraged, and classroom time is more specific, with the focus on fine tuning of skills using advanced techniques.
The program runs rain or shine, and driving on a wet track is one of the most beneficial exercises to help advance your Audi driving skills at any experience level. Bring your completed tech inspection sheet, driver’s license. Program waivers will be available at the event for you to sign.
– Novice $250
– Intermediate $235
– Advanced $210
