SA Food Bank is in desperate need of donations as shelves reach historic lows

The San Antonio Food Bank was founded in 1980 and serves over 58,000 individuals a week. Eliminating hunger is San Antonio Food Bank’s number one priority but also serve to educate and provide assistance through a variety of programs and resources available to families, individuals, seniors, children and military members in need. In addition, the San Antonio Food Bank supports more than 500 non-profit partner organizations.

In November, roughly half of the shelves at the San Antonio Food Bank location were empty. With shelves at a historic low, the San Antonio Food Bank is asking the community for nonperishable food and monetary donations to meet the needs of the San Antonio community.

The 12-most-wanted items include beans, canned stew, canned soup, canned lunch meat, cereal, chili, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, and tuna.

Audi Club Lone Star has become a fundraiser and wants to encourage more people to sign-up for assistance, and to donate.
