Audi Happy Hour

Kicking things off, the August 9th Audi happy hour had a great mix of members, guests, friends, and 12 gorgeous Audis.  Member Darrin Rich’s radical SQ 5 is always a club favorite and was right at home among Steve Zink’s amazing street-track beast, and Robert Thomas’ slammed A4 Avant.  The monthly Audi happy hour event continues to grow each month.  Volunteers are certain the success is due to the centralized location and monthly consistency for all of Dallas and Fort Worth to easily meet.

Audi Fort Worth A8 Unveiling

Club members were treated to the unveiling of the sparkling 2019 A8 at Audi Fort Worth’s grand opening on August 16th.  Music, hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and a chance to win an Audi bicycle made for an exciting evening.  Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price was the special guest of honor and cut the ribbon on Fort Worth Audi’s exciting new chapter of serving the community with luxury service.

Audi Driving Experience

August 17th was the day for another bucket list item to be checked off for Patti and Scott Lacen, and Ab Caram.  The DFW chapter members made the trek to Austin’s Circuit of the America’s (COTA) Audi Driving Experience where they spent the afternoon participating in the R8 Track Initiation Program.  The event started with a delicious lunch and driver orientation before drivers were split into groups to maximize driving time.  Then it was off to the RS3 on the evasive maneuvers course, the TT RS for an autocross competition, and the R8 V10 Plus on the COTA track where speeds reached in excess of 150 MPH!  Drivers had the opportunity to exhaust themselves in each car and take many breaks where hospitality and refreshments were in abundance.  The day ended with a wrap up of everything learned and story-telling over delicious German-themed hors d’oeuvres and beverages.

Pistons on the Square

While in the Austin area for the weekend, Patti and Scott Lacen, and AJ and Ab Caram, attended the August 18th Pistons on the Square car show located in Georgetown, Texas at one of our state’s most beautiful town squares. Tuned and modified with over 900 horsepower combined, Scott’s RS 5 and Ab’s TT RS were right at home among the classic and modern street machines in attendance.

Family dinner night

The month wrapped up at a new location for a burger night at Chophouse burger in Grapevine, Texas.  The family event offered great burgers, premium Audi parking, and the perfect venue for conversation about the month and upcoming fall events.
