Earlier this month members from Houston, Austin, Lubbock, Dallas- Fort Worth, the Rio Grande Valley, and everywhere in between converged in San Antonio for the annual state meet. The weekend was filled with great food, great friends, a thrilling drive through the hill country, some special events hosted by Cavender Audi, and branded merchandise provided by Audi San Juan. We wish to thank our dealer sponsors for their contributions that made the weekend an event to remember!
The fun began Friday with a social gathering at the Top Golf ‘Audi Level’ where old friends were reunited and new friendships formed. The event hosted by Audi Club Lone Star featured tasty food, and friendly competition which allowed everyone to mingle and stretch their legs after a day of travel.
Saturday morning Rick Cavender hosted a technical session at Cavender Audi San Antonio which featured a presentation about the future of the Audi brand by Ariel Esparza, as well as an in depth review of the Audi Sport Customer Racing RS3 LMS owned and raced by Don Istook. Everyone enjoyed ogling over the race car, but no one had more fun than Rick as he had the privilege of taking the car for a spin.
From the dealership we hit the road for a thrilling and scenic drive through the hill country to New Braunfels. Iconic hill country scenery, winding roads, and a superb lineup of vehicles made the drive wonderful. After arriving in New Braunfels, an authentic German lunch was enjoyed at Krause’s Cafe in the biergarten, with our Audis providing a glorious background. Later that evening members made their way back to San Antonio for a happy hour at the Old Pearl Brewery.
Sunday was a day of history and revelation as the club toured the Alamo and was again treated by Rick Cavender, this time with lunch on the River Walk. It was a relaxing way to end the weekend, and bid farewell to everyone. Overall the weekend was filled with good friends, fun activities, and of course Audi!
