Close2Bennett GTR and 4000 (3B engine conversion) Thunderhill Raceway

I was bit by the Audi bug on a warm California afternoon. There was a beautiful widebody race prepped S4 sitting in the middle of a soccer field during a local business oriented festival in the city of Davis, California. The car fired up and belted out a sweet tune through its K04 Turbos. The side exit exhaust filled the air with the sweet scent of 100 octane gas. What 16 year old wouldn’t instantly fall in love?

My years at 2Bennett allowed me to live and breathe Audi. I was a tech inspector at least a dozen times for Audi Club Golden Gate chapter and had the opportunity to see many historically significant Audis. Despite waking up at 2am on a Saturday in order to have the car hauler unloaded by 5am, each track event was just as exciting as the last.

Champion S4

While I appreciate any Quattro, I have a particular affection for the 20 valve 5 cylinder. I have owned 3 1991 200 Turbo Quattros, and each one has special memories that will resonate for a lifetime. I have been honoured by the presence of a genuine Sport Quattro and graced by the beauty of a true dual port injected Audi Sport rally 5 cylinder powerplant.

After my education and career took me back to Houston, I was extremely relieved to find a new group of friends that shared the same passion for these wonderful machines. It gives me a lot of pride to swap stories and share experiences. My dream Audi is a solid tie between an RS6 (proper Avant) or an RS2.
