HAAS RT Audi Secures Win at 12 Hours of Misano

News from Sportscar365 confirms that HAAS RT secured a commanding win for Audi in the Michelin 12 hours of Misano, continuing the brand’s strong form at the Italian circuit. The No. 21 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, driven by Peter Guelinckx, Jef Machiels, and Matisse Lismont, crossed the finish line nearly a minute ahead of the No. 73 Proton Huber Porsche 911 GT3 R.

This marks HAAS RT’s second GT3 win of the 2024 season, following a debut victory at Mugello, and it also makes back-to-back Misano wins for Audi after last year’s success by the Sainteloc Junior Team.

The race began with a strong charge from Lismont, who advanced the car from fourth to second at the start. Machiels took over and grabbed the lead from the Scuderia Praha Ferrari on lap 48. From there, HAAS RT maintained control of the race, holding off strong mid-race pressure from both RedAnt Racing’s Mercedes-AMG and the fast-closing Proton Huber Porsche, which ultimately finished second overall and first in the Pro-Am category.

RedAnt Racing completed the overall podium, while Audi also claimed the Am class win with the No. 71 Juta Racing entry finishing fourth overall.

The next round of the Michelin 24H Series takes place at Circuit Paul Ricard on July 5th.
