Glacier Lakes Board of Directors Election

Audi Club Glacier Lakes’ Board of Directors is comprised of nine chapter members who volunteer their time to serve on behalf of our community. Each Board Member is elected to a three-year term, and may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. ACGL has one open Board seat for the term beginning January 2023 as Phil Fortmeyer’s appointment to the Board (to replace Shelley Roman when she relocated) has ended.
In accordance with our by-laws, the Nominating Committee reached out to members seeking nominations for candidates. We have one candidate, Phil Fortmeyer, who is running for election to the Board.
Please read Phil’s Bio below. Members will receive an email with a link to cast their vote by 11:59 pm Friday, December 2, 2022.
Thank you in advance for your participation!

2023 Board of Directors Candidate

Phil Fortmeyer

I have been a member and active in Audi Club Glacier Lakes (ACGL) since 2014 and stepped into Shelly Roman’s open board position in 2021 upon her moving out of state. I ask for your vote for a new 3-year term starting in 2023.
My board involvement has included attending board meetings, providing input, and attending events. I have taken responsibility as Event Master for Ice Driving and Teen Clinics as well as assisting with a variety of other events, including our signature quattroberfest at Brainerd International Raceway(BIR). A critical component to ensure our events are fun while running smoothly and safely.
My passion for cars started at a young age and the modifications started soon after the purchase of my first car at 16. Shortly thereafter I was pulling engines and leaning on others for advice and help much like we pride ourselves today in ACGL. I was hooked on HPDE’s after taking 2 of my sons to a 2-day HPDE at Bondurant in Phoenix in 2012. This connects with Audi Club Glacier Lakes’ mission of creating better and safer drivers through our various driver education events as well as the social aspect though fun drives and picnics.
Being on the board allows me to give back to our members to further our mission by growing membership, organizing events that are fun and reasonably priced, being fiscally responsible, growing sponsorships, and leveraging Audi Club national and other Audi Club chapters. In addition, I am also a member of the local PCA Nordstern (Porsche) and North Star BMW clubs as it is important to maintain relationships and share resources with complimentary clubs.
