This past month, nothing was going on. Audi Club North America and Audi Club Florida will not be conducting, organizing, or participating in any event representing the club for the safety of our members until the 1st of June. Neither organization is willing to put anyone at risk. At least one of our members I know has lost a loved one due to COVID-19 and that is one too many.
ACFL is recommending obeying the most up to date guidelines and orders issued by the governor concerning events. ACFL still suggests using an antibacterial wipe, some type of disposable protective glove, a plastic t-shirt bag, or dog poop bag as a barrier while using the fuel pumps to avoid potential exposure and dispose of it after fueling. Be careful out there and protect your health until we can start meeting up again. #FlattenTheCurve
Audi COVID-19 Assistance:
If you know anyone who has been adversely affected by COVID-19 and being out of work for the time being, Audi of America through Audi Financial Services is offering payment deferral and lease extensions for people affected and financed with them. We are looking down the road. We plan to start the monthly stuff again. We are also pleased we have leadership onboard in the Platinum Coast Region. Contact info will be later in the Platinum Coast Leadership introduction.
Other chapter events this year are hopefully able be scheduled.

Audi Club Florida License Plate Holders
If you reside in the First Coast region and would like to purchase one last few of our new ACFL license plate holders, give me a shout. They are $35 each. These frames are hand-wrapped using premium vinyl over stainless steel in Austin Texas. The quality and craftsmanship is top-shelf. If you are not local to me, the cost will be $40 including shipping and handling the same payment methods as above and I will get it sent to you by mail. We are trying to expand regional coverage, but need your help!
As we continue this year, we are currently looking for leadership in the following areas:
Space Coast Region – (Cape Canaveral to Fort Pierce)
Gator Region – Gainesville Area
Many people have emailed me personally and through the national office wondering why there is not something in their area. I tell them assistance is required to help get things going locally. We desire to unite the state and have meets within an hour’s drive of your location at least quarterly. We are looking for some people who have the ambition to lead and desire to start something long term, helping arrange places to meet for lunch, activities, attend local car shows and coffee events, and other social activities. If you would like to volunteer and help organize a successful regional club, please contact me for details and we will discuss making it happen.

Emerald Coast Region – Panhandle
The most exciting news to come out of April has been the Quattro de Mayo (QDM) makeup dates have been announced for August 27-30 2020 at The Ridges Resort.
Those that have already registered and still plan to attend have nothing to change except your calendar. I’m already counting down!
Unfortunately, we don’t have any events scheduled for May. We are looking into hosting another virtual meet up via Zoom. Details will be posted on our Facebook page. There’s also been several “car cruise bys” in our area for many causes such as for graduates, children’s and senior’s birthdays etc. Keep your eye out and represent if you’re able and willing.
The one thing we can still do individually is go for a drive. Get out when you can, explore your area and scout some roads. Share your journey in our Facebook group as Michael Chang recently did when he explored some roads west of us in Mississippi. Remember to tag @emeraldcoastaudiclub on your Instagram post. You might even see the RS 5 or SQ5 out doing the same. It is, after all, my favorite thing to do.
A big thank you to our IG team for keeping the content flowing. I’d like to welcome Brian Lee (@ybrianlee) back home from his tour in Afghanistan. He along with Jeremy Chavez (@thehumanchav) and Jack Vorozheykin’s (@red_jackv) continue to contribute to our @emeraldcoastaudiclub Instagram page.
We do have some events to look forward to down the road. The route for our fall drive is complete with some minor details to work out. Also, there is currently early planning stage talks of a Tourist Trophy of America (TTOA)-like event in our area joining our region and the Deep South Chapter. If any other area is interested let me know. Of course, we’ll be back at area C&C’s when deemed safe by our local officials.

Platinum Coast Region (Sarasota to Naples)
Hello Audi Club members! Great news! We are starting the Platinum Coast Region of Audi Club of Florida for the Naples to Sarasota region on the west coast of Florida. We (see introductions below) would love for you to join us. You can contact us via email to get your name on our contact list so we can fill you in on our meeting, rally, and social gatherings. We can’t gather now due to the not so friendly, Mr. COVID-19, but it’s the perfect time to get organized and get our feet on the ground so we can meet up soon to share our vision for the Platinum Florida Audi Club. So please get in touch so we can add your information to our roles. Here is a short bio of the three of us.
Jerome (Jerry) Stock joined the Audi Club in 2010 and became a life member. Currently living in Cape Coral, he has two TDI cars: 2014 A6 and a 2015 Q7. He enjoys going to the racing and annual events when he can make it. He travels quite a bit now to keep busy. He was born in Buffalo, NY, and served in the Navy from 1965-1969 where he was an aviation electrician. He worked for US Airways for 35 years, taking early retirement due to health problems. He receives a box of quattro Magazines which he delivers to the Ft. Myers dealership. It would be nice if we had our group of enthusiasts to become friends and do things in our area of the state.
Barb and Rudy Lohff (“loaf”) are living in Punta Gorda (Punta Gorgeous) where they retired in 2005 from Cincinnati, Ohio. Rudy had been a coatings chemist and worked in the coating industry for 50 years while managing various coating labs. Barb is a retired elementary teacher after 38 years of chasing Rudy’s “free agency” from coast to coast. They currently drive a 2015 A6 and a 2003 TT convertible and are Audi enthusiasts! Rudy had worked stints at both Cincinnati and Fort Myers Audi dealerships. They look forward to getting together with other Audi owners and enjoy the Southwest Florida region and see what kind of excitement this new group can stir up!
