Audi Club of Florida Newsletter for July, 2014

Club members and fellow race fans had a good time at Audi Tampa/Reeves Motorsports cheering Team Joest at the 24 Hours of le Mans. We were treated to a great race: Audi, Toyota, and Porsche all lead the P1 class before Audi  #2 (Fässler, Lotterer, Tréluyer) claimed the win. Audi Sport Customer Racing team Phoenix Racing went on to win the 24 hours of Nurburgring on June 19.

Members Adam Hart and Pierre Uteschill have volunteered to start a new region for the club – Treasure Coast & the Palm Beaches. There will be a kick-off meeting on Wednesday July 16th 6:30pm at Panera Bread, 3515 Ross Clark Circle Stuart, FL 34997, with more to follow. If anyone wants to volunteer to help get this region going, please attend the inaugural meeting and talk to Adam and Pierre.

If you’re interested in getting together with fellow members we’d like to hear from you, especially if you live in South or Southwest Florida. If you’re interested in sharing information about an event or becoming a regional contact for the club, contact [email protected].

Cheers,
Walter Moore

May – record sales for Audi

Audi of America reports: “Audi reported May 2014 sales of 16,601 vehicles, which stands as the brand’s second-best month ever and its 41st consecutive month of record sales. May only trailed the all-time record monthly sales mark set in December 2013 of 17,013 vehicles sold. Audi sales for the month rose 25.5% to 16,601 vehicles, while year-to-date sales totals increased 11.4%% to 67,482 vehicles… Since its introduction earlier this spring, the A3 premium sedan has become one of the three most popular models in the Audi lineup, with May U.S. sales of 2,261 cars.” By comparison, BMW sales rose 17% to 29,000 vehicles in May.

If you have a special Audi such as one of the S or RS models or a pre 2000 that you would like to sell, we will list it once in the newsletter. I will need the year, model, color over interior color, and your email address. Longer and non-member postings can be placed in the website. We will also list DKW, NSU, and Wanderer motorcycles. If you are looking for a particular car, once again S, RS or pre 2000 model plus a bike, we will also try to accommodate you here.

For Example: Wanted: Wanderer or DKW motorcycle of motorbike pre 1950 [email protected]

Final Words..

Welcome to our new ACNA members. Our membership numbers continue to grow; we are now well over 270 members, which mean additional critical mass in different regions of the state and hopefully more events and greater participation. Those of you who are new to the ACNA will receive an on boarding note from David Loppert. If you have any questions feel free to drop a line to David. If you have not had a chance yet check out both the ACNA website, and the Audi Club of Florida website. There is a great deal of good information plus some excellent photos of member’s cars.
