Find of the Day: This UK-Market 2000 Audi S3 Has the Heart of a TT 

Start practicing your left-hand shifting because this imported 2000 Audi S3 could be your ticket for some low-cost thrills. The Imola Yellow hatchback is a right-hand-drive UK-market car that is in a new country with a new engine. It is listed for sale right now on Bring a Trailer.

If you are looking for a garage queen Audi S3 hatchback, close your laptop right now. This is not the car you are looking for. But if you are looking for something that could be a barrel of laughs without costing a barrel of cash, you will want to read on.

This little buzz bomb is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and a quattro all-wheel-drive system along with 17-inch Avus alloy wheels, xenon headlights, power-adjustable Recaro front seats, automatic climate control, and an Audi Concert cassette stereo. But the star of the show just might be the black leather and yellow Alcantara interior.

The car shows 131K miles, but the original engine is no longer part of the program. The engine and turbo from a 2001 Audi TT 225 lie under the hood. That should give the car plenty of pep. But all is not perfect.

 Those lovely seats have some stains on them and the pixels on the dashboard are fading. The tires are a mis-mash of different brands. The rear wheel speed sensor needs to be replaced. The car comes with two ECUs. One is tuned and throws a check engine light and the other is not tuned. The car has only been in the U.S. for about two months.

This may not be a car for the faint of heart. There are some stories here. But this car isn’t going to go for a ton of money either.
