Find of the Day: This 1980 Audi 4000 Is Clean, Original, and Ready to Drive
It doesn’t have quattro all-wheel drive or a manual transmission. But this 1980 Audi 4000 is a time capsule with only 22,000 miles and is original right down to the window sticker. It is listed on Bring a Trailer right now and is being offered with no reserve.
This Helios Blue Metallic 1980 Audi 4000 two-door sedan, showing just 22k miles, remains on its original 1980 New York title and was sold from an estate in June 2025. Powered by a 2.1-liter inline-five and a three-speed automatic, it features a blue velour interior and a Sony cassette stereo. Recent 2025 maintenance included a new head gasket, timing belt, and tires. It comes with its window sticker, owner’s manual, and a clean New York title.
With just 100 horsepower on tap, this car is not going to break any lap records. But that doesn’t make it any less cool. If you love RAD-era cars, it is hard to beat this beautiful Audi. Especially in this pristine condition. The horn doesn’t work but other than that, there is not much to complain about here.
You can nitpick that power only goes to the front wheels. And there are drum brakes out back. But does any of that really matter? This is not a modern car, and that is the point and the appeal of this car. You may never find another Audi 4000 in better condition than the one offered here. It is going to find a new home soon. Will that home be yours? Bidding ends on Friday, December 5.
