Find of the Day: quattro Magazine Featured 2018 Audi S4llroad

words: Bill, photos: Bring A Trailer

In the 1st issue of the redesigned quattro Magazine (q1_2019), we wanted a cover photo that would grab attention and show that the magazine was moving in a new direction. We in the States sadly lack wagon/Avant options so when we ran across Pacific German‘s S4-converted B9 allroad, we knew we had a winner.

And we did. Not only did the magazine have a different physical feel, it had a visceral feel which the S4llroad helped tremendously and now you can get that feeling because it’s for sale. Bring A Trailer is the bane of my existence because almost daily, vehicles I drool over go up for auction and with one kid in college and another going in a year, I can’t play until they’re both out. That shouldn’t stop you though. Here’s the ad:

This 2018 Audi A4 Allroad has been modified with factory S4 components, including a turbocharged 3.0L V6, a quilted Magma Red leather interior, and a factory digital instrument cluster. The conversion was performed by the seller’s shop, Pacific German, as Audi has not offered an S4 wagon for the US market since the B7 generation in 2008. The conversion was undertaken using two new cars purchased for the project. Other modifications include Brembo six-piston front calipers, KW Variant 3 coilovers, 20″ Rotiform wheels, 034 Motorsport suspension and driveline components, and more detailed in the listing. This Avant is now offered with factory literature, a selection of factory S4 parts, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in Mythos Black and features color-keyed valences, lower side trim, fender badges, reflectors, and Audi emblems. Allroad badging has been removed, and the car is fitted with an RS4-style front grille, factory S4 door handles, an RS4 rear hatch spoiler, and Black Optics RS4 window trim and roof rails. The rear wiper has been removed, and the car has been treated with Ceramic Pro 3H ceramic coatings. Suntek clear film protects the forward surfaces, and Pinnacle Formula One ceramic tint has been applied to the windows.

Rotiform DUS wheels measure 20×10.5″ and feature a brushed finish with tinted clear coat and red hex caps. The fitted Bridgestone S007 tires measure 265/30. Suspension modifications include KW Variant 3 adjustable coilovers, 034 Motorsport sway bars, and 034 Motorsport end links. Braking is handled by a Brembo BM-6 front big brake kit with 6-piston calipers, 380mm slotted discs, and Brembo TS20 pads. Rear brakes sourced from the donor S4 are equipped with slotted discs and ceramic pads.

The cabin features quilted Magma Red leather seating surfaces contrasted by a black dash, carpets, and interior panels. A set of factory door panels with leather inserts and red stitching is installed. The car is equipped with automatic climate control, heated seats, navigation, Bluetooth, and more. Interior modifications include the following:

  • P3Cars full vent mount multifunction gauge
  • Custom black suede headliner
  • Custom black suede A, B, C, and D pillars
  • Audi Sport door entry lights
  • European-market RS4 Shift Knob
  • European-market RS4 door pull handles
  • European-market sun visors
  • Factory carbon fiber trim
  • Factory S4 pedal set
  • Factory red-stitched S4 floor mats

A flat-bottomed Magma Red and black leather RS4 Exclusive multifunction steering wheel is installed. The Allroad was equipped with analog gauges, and the seller initially transferred the digital cluster from the donor car over. The current cluster is a new replacement which has been reprogrammed, and 5,400 miles are now shown.

The turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 was sourced from the S4 donor car and was factory rated at 354 horsepower. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. Modifications include an ABT Power Module, CTS turbo intake system, and a Milltek cat-back exhaust system. The four-outlet exhaust features turned-down inner tips for compatibility with the Allroad rear valence, and a Milltek high-flow catalytic converter and non-resonated conversion pipes can be included if desired. The car has been BAR certified, and a label from the State of California is pictured above. Other door tags and labels are pictured in the gallery.

The car is equipped with adjustable front upper control arms, a front strut tower bar, transmission mount, transmission mount insert, differential mount inserts, and subframe mount inserts from 034 Motorsport. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.

An issue of the Audi Club magazine, Quattro, featuring this car is included, and a selection of pages is shown in the gallery.

At the time of publishing, the current bid sits at $55,000 and the auction will end in 6 days. I’m sure there are build threads out there but here’s the article that was in the q1_2019 issue of quattro Magazine (there you will find the photo gallery taken by Denis Podmarkov). You may find this beauty for sale HERE.
