Find of the Day: Illuminated Audi Sign

One of the very few pandemic adventures I had was going with a friend to buy a huge Audi sign from a former dealer. We took his pickup and carefully loaded the sign after wrapping it in blankets…it barely fit. This one however, you could probably put in the back of your Avant or Q7. Here’s the ad:

This illuminated Audi sign features a prior version of the company’s logo and measures approximately 55″ wide by 39″ wide. It is said to have been designed for use in an Audi dealership and was acquired by the seller in 2002. The one-sided sign is internally illuminated by fluorescent lighting, and its construction includes an oval-shaped metal housing, 220-volt circuitry, and a translucent panel with the company wordmark. This Audi sign is now offered at no reserve in Burbank, California.

The oval-shaped sign features a convex translucent panel displaying the Audi logo used between 1978 and 1995. A red-finished metal ring encompasses the panel and is secured to a color-matching metal enclosure. The dimensions for the sign are approximately 55″ wide, 39″ tall, and 8″ deep. The seller notes that a rivet is used in place of a removed screw to secure the bottom of the panel.

Illumination is provided by seven fluorescent bulbs housed within the enclosure. The sign is accompanied by a 110-volt converter for use with its European-style two-prong plug and 220-volt circuitry.

Two mounting hooks are fastened to the back of the enclosure, and the power cord exits through the rear of the sign.

A great automobilia and conversation piece and it won’t take a truck to bring it home. Ok, maybe you have to borrow a friend’s pickup but still…who wouldn’t want this? There are 3 days left and the bidding is up to $1,350. You can find it on Bring A Trailer HERE.
