Just when we think we’ve seen all there is to see on online automotive auction sites, someone comes along and reminds us that’s not the case. Take, for example, this very unique coffee table that’s up for sale currently on Bring A Trailer.
As BaT describes:
“This coffee table was constructed by the seller in 2024 using Audi inline-five powertrain components. The engine wears a black, white, and silver color scheme with red accents and features a circular tempered glass tabletop. The engine is supported by a black metal frame with caster feet. This five-cylinder Audi engine coffee table is now offered at no reserve in Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
“The engine components were disassembled under previous ownership, and the seller sand-blasted, cleaned, and painted the pieces before assembling the engine. The valve cover is finished in white with black, silver, and red rhombus stripes and an oval Audi logo. The KKK turbocharger, cylinder block, and turbo-branded intake manifold are finished in silver. A dipstick, ignition components, pulleys, and an oil filter are retained. The engine lacks internal components.”
If you’ve got an Audi-themed car cave and are seeking that extra something that will place you 1-2-4-5-3 steps ahead of your fellow brand aficionados, we suspect this one may very well be it.
Editor’s take: It’s a beautiful thing and one of a kind. Unlike Jennifer Aniston’s suspenders in office space, it’s not light on Audi branded flair, but we love it just the same. The markings on the glass are etched, which means if you want a subtler look with a few less logos, you’ll need to swap it out. Even still, that’s a nitpick and something any glass shop should be able to handle. This is a well-crafted piece that any brand enthusiast would probably enjoy.
