Find of the Day: A Pair of Audi Sport quattro S1 Doors

words: Bill, photos: Ben Radford

Well this is a first. Normally we feature a whole vehicle as a Find of the Day but I don’t remember featuring parts before but this is too cool to pass up. I’ll let the description tell you about them. Here’s the ad:

Super rare and sought after, for sale are a pair of Audi Sport Quattro S1 doors complete with handles, catches, period correct wing mirrors and lexan windows with integrated sliders. These are original oem doors that have had the outer body skin replaced for carbon kevlar. Best of both worlds, strong but still very light as opposed to the fully composite versions available. Save the time as these are complete and no need to purchase and fit the doors/lexan/wing mirrors/pull lead for the catch! They are in good condition, came off a replica S1. Any questions please message me, collection only please.

We have a running joke in the office where when we see a cool car door, we immediately alert a few friends about it. Several years ago at a PCA Porsche swap meet, we ran across an Irish Green driver side door from an early 911/912. We imagined how cool it would look mounted in a garage or as a centerpiece in a living room. We hemmed and hawed whether we would actually purchase it and decided to walk around to think about it. When we finally decided that yes, it would be a cool piece of wall art, the door was gone. We’ve agonized about it now for several years. If you want a cool pice of wall art or are actually building an S1, here’s your chance. They are located in England though. These are listed at £1,450 ($1,740 USD) and you can find them HERE.
