Find of the Day: 24K-Mile 2012 Audi A8L W12

words: Bill, photos: Bring A Trailer

Now that I have your attention, let’s turn ours to this beast. While it’s not an S8, this is no slouch. Back in 2012, Car & Driver stated ‘Ease is among the chief differentiators between the obnoxiously wealthy and those who are merely ultra-rich. Ease of buying your way into finer polo clubs, out of lesser felonies, into better key parties, that sort of thing. When it comes to the Audi A8L W-12, the only thing that isn’t easy is saying A8L W-12. When your flagship vehicle’s designation reads like a license plate, maybe it’s time to rethink vehicle names. We have a suggestion for this one: Autobahn King’. Here’s the ad:

This 2012 Audi A8L W12 is finished in black over brown leather and is powered by a 6.3-liter W12 engine paired with eight-speed automatic transaxle and Quattro all-wheel drive. Equipment includes four-zone automatic climate control, navigation, a rear entertainment system, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, adaptive air suspension, parking sensors, 20″ wheels, and heated, ventilated, and massaging seats both front and rear. The car was first delivered to Autohaus Lancaster, Inc. in Pennsylvania, and is said to have remained with its original owner prior to its re-acquisition by the selling dealer from his estate. It now has just over 24k miles, and service in 2021 included an oil change and a brake fluid flush. This D4 A8L W12 is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, two key fobs, service records, a clean Carfax report, and clean Pennsylvania title.

The long-wheelbase exterior is finished in Phantom Black Pearl (L8L8) and features polished accents on the window trim, bumper covers, and side skirts. Additional exterior equipment includes a power moonroof, LED accent lights, power-assisted soft-close doors, and parking sensors. A paint correction was carried out in March 2021.

Optional 20″ wheels are wrapped in 265/40 Pirelli P Zero Nero tires that records indicate were installed in March 2018. Standard equipment includes adaptive air suspension. The right rear inner CV joint was replaced and a brake fluid flush was performed in February 2021.

The heated and ventilated front and rear seats are upholstered in Nougat Brown leather and feature massage functions, while the Dark Walnut Wood veneers accent the dashboard, center console, door panels, and front seat backs. Equipment includes Audi MMI infotainment with a touchpad and handwriting recognition, as well as a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a rear seat entertainment system, four-zone automatic climate control, powered rear and side sunshades, Audi Night Vision Assistant, 4G LTE connectivity, and a cooled glove box. Wireless Audi-branded headphones are included in the sale and shown in the gallery below.

The heated and leather-wrapped steering features Tiptronic paddle shifters and frames a 180-mph speedometer, tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and a multi-function display. The odometer indicates just over 24k miles, fewer than 100 of which were added by the selling dealer.

The 6.3-liter W12 was factory rated at 500 horsepower and 463 lb-ft of torque. The drive belt was replaced and an oil and filter change was performed in February 2021.

Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed ZF 8HP automatic transaxle and Quattro all-wheel drive with a Torsen torque-sensing center differential.

Manufacturer’s literature, two key fobs, and service records are included in the sale. The window sticker in the gallery shows factory colors and equipment as well as a total price of $153,475. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Pennsylvania.

You read that right…the MSRP in 2012 was an eye-searing $153,475 but just look at it. It begs the question: would you rather drive this 500hp beast or be chauffeured around while lounging in that beautiful Nougat Brown interior ? Watching videos or being behind the wheel while sprinting from 0-60 in 4,1 seconds? Either way, you’ll be a winner. Right now, the bid sits at $32,000 with no reserve. There are 4 days left for bids on this Executive Muscle Car. You can find it and many more photos HERE.
