It’s rare when we feature an A4 as a Find of the Day but then again this is a pretty rare A4. How rare? A few years ago, Audi made the decision to stop production of manual transmissions. It was a sad day but this car is both a send off and the return of the A4 Ultra sport. No doubt Audi purists remember the original A4 Ultra sport built during the B6 generation. That very special sporting A4 featured unique kit that marked the first time the A4 would be as visually aggressive as the S4. It seemed fitting then to return to the formula with this very special hat tip to the departing manuals. With the decision to discontinue the manual transmission, Audi of America decided to earmark the last 40 cars as manual transmission cars. The Ultra sport spec was formulated to be as sporty in appearance as the S4… and yet also with that manual transmission. Here’s the ad:
This 2018 Audi A4 Ultra Sport is not just any luxury sedan; it’s an exclusive model with only 40 units produced, making it a rare find. With just over 25,000 miles, this particular A4 Ultra Sport is in excellent condition and stands out as a collector’s item. It’s part of the final production run of the A4’s B9 generation, adding to its uniqueness and desirability.
Under the hood, the A4 Ultra Sport is equipped with a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine, finely tuned to deliver around 190 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a manual transmission, which is increasingly rare in modern cars and highly sought after by driving enthusiasts for the control and engagement it offers.
The exterior of this A4 Ultra Sport features distinctive styling elements that set it apart from standard models, including a more aggressive front and rear fascia and unique wheels, all contributing to its sporty and sleek appearance.
Inside, the cabin is a showcase of Audi’s commitment to luxury and technology. Premium materials, advanced infotainment systems, and a suite of driver-assistance technologies create an environment that is both comfortable and cutting-edge. The interior design is modern and driver-focused, emphasizing the car’s sporty character.
Driving dynamics are a key strength of this A4 Ultra Sport, balancing comfort with agile handling. Despite its focus on fuel efficiency, the car doesn’t sacrifice performance, making it suitable for both spirited drives and daily commutes.
As one of only 40 units produced, this 2018 Audi A4 Ultra Sport with a manual transmission is more than just a car – it’s a rare piece of Audi’s automotive history, offering a unique blend of exclusivity, performance, and luxury. Its low mileage and well-maintained condition further enhance its appeal to collectors and driving enthusiasts alike.
As you can see from the ad, this is 1 of 40…the last 40 manual transmission Audi in a long line of Audi vehicles. To the highly trained eye, it is clear that Audi of America dipped considerably into the vast mix of trim and equipment available from the B9 partsbin. The RS carbon inlays come from the RS 4 Avant, while the 19-inch-rotor design wheels are from the S4 black optic package. Badge deletion, a longtime European trend, helps make the A4 Ultra sport look more like an S4, though perhaps a bit more aggressive thanks to carbon fiber mirror caps and trunk lip spoiler. Quantum Gray, just added to the 2019 S4/S5/SQ5 range, has never been offered on the A4 and adds a further sporting touch. This Ultra sport has 25,440 miles and is being offered for $37,991. That’s a little steep for an A4 but not steep for the last of the last and 1 of 40. You can find this 2018 Audi A4 Ultra sport HERE. Thank you to Will for the heads up!
