Find of the Day: 2001 Stage 3 Audi S4 Avant

words: Bill, photos: Hunter Alan

There should be a TV show called Everyone Loves The B5 and alternatively one called Everyone Hates Bill For Not Fully Loving The B5…Except For The Avant. I do…I really love the B5 Avant especially an S5 Avant. This one is a doozy. Here’s the ad:

I’m selling my Black 2001 Audi S4 Avant 6 speed (stage 3 – built around 100,000 miles) because I no longer have the time to enjoy it. I grew up dreaming about having this car and am very blessed to have owned one but now I’m just in a different season of life raising a family. I truly hope this car goes to someone who will take care of it and enjoy it as much as I did. While I have owned the car, I have had zero issues other than the rear brake sensor going off because of the BBK swap (as seen in picture). Currently the car is winterized in my garage. Most of the work done to this car was done by Levi Tipcke of Tipcke Repair and Performance. He informed me that he is willing to chat with anyone who may have questions. You can message him via his FaceBook business page called Tipcke Repair and Performance.
I purchased the car on 8/26/2019. I bought the car with 120,768 miles on it and now it currently has 124,781 miles on it. The car is stored in my heated garage during the winter months. I have additional parts that include: headlights, rear wiper assembly, original shifter, original leather e-brake cover, original leather center console cover, original brakes/rotors, StopTech front brake pads (used but still has padding left), original lug nut bar and left, NewSouth boost gage, APR EMCS Stage 2+ box with 91 and 93.
Cons:
-Sunroof seal needs to be replaced
-the exhaust vibrates under the driver side due to the mesh bend. That section just needs to be replaced.
-very small oil leak
-there is no small spare tire but I do have a full size original S4 tire
-Paint isn’t perfect
-Small bubbling at the rear (see picture)
-Rear middle head rest is missing
-Rear brake sensor goes off once and a while due to the BBK swap
-Small chip in windshield
-Small tear in driver side seat (see picture)
Pros:
-Stage 3 (done around 100,000 miles)
-Borg Warner Ko4 turbos (installed at around 100,000 miles)
-Big Brake Kit – StopTech, JHM 300mm Kit.
-Carbon Fiber 034 Motor Sport Cold Air Intake System
-Evolution Racewerks Carbon Fiber Shrouds
-H&R Springs
-Blistein Shocks
-BBS wheels
-All control arms and bushings replaced
-currently 91 octane tune
-EV14 Injectors
-upgraded fuel pump (unsure of brand)
-Current tune is a Stage 3 AMD tune done by Jordan Price
-6 speed manual transmission (01E) swap done around 100,000 miles (was originally an automatic with shifters on steering wheel as see in picture)
-Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports 235/40R18
-Replaced Battery
-Replaced Alternator
-All timing components and all seals replaced (around 100,000 miles)
-Cluster not missing any pixels
-New heater core
-Full exhaust system (unsure of brand)
-The car was basically completely gone through around 100,000 miles to prepare it for the stage 3 build.
-clean title
I’m sure there is more that was done to the car but that is all I know. Please let me know if you have any questions, I will answer them with the best of my ability. I can supply you with a CARFAX if needed. Asking $19,500.00. Open to offers.

It’s a storyline which we are all familiar with: a kid dreams of a car, grows up, obtains that car, and then life gets in the way. At this point, I don’t know if the show Everyone Loves The B5 would be a comedy or a drama; maybe a  dramedy. I know my show would be a tragedy. Maybe if I buy this Stage 3 B5 S4 Avant, it would be a drama…no, definitely a comedy because you’ve never seen me drive.
