Nogaro Blue…Avant…V8…am I talking about the Audi RS 6 Avant RS Tribute edition? While a very sexy beast, I am not. This is a 1997 C4 S6 Avant plus for sale in Hungary. Why am I featuring this? Well, its 1st registration was March 1997 and with the US 25 year exemption on importing cars, you would only have to wait until March 2022 to get this. Here’s the ad:
It was running in Germany until 2000 or 2001, since then it is in Hungary.
Last record in service book at 53K kms in 99’, Germany.
I bought the car from the first Hungarian owner with 208K kms. in 2010.
The car was running as a daily until 2016 with circa 287K kms in tacho, when the engine has been refurbished by a well known Hungarian C4/S6 specialist, who serviced the car during my ownership.
Cylinder head rebuild,
All seals and gaskets are OEM or Victor Reinz,
Gates Timing + water pump,
Nissens Radiator, etc..
Rarely driven in last years.
Tacho shows 291K kms now.
Last service done few weeks ago.
Spark plugs, lower control arm R, damper dust boots all and upper bushes rear, thermostat, engine oil and oil/air/fuel/cabin filters, windshield wiper, injectors ultrasonic cleaned, rear brake caliper.
New MOT/TÜV. Valid until 10/2024
Cons:
Sunroof is not working.
Something broken in the mechanism.
I give a complete mechanism with motor.
Drivers seat’s left leather upholstery has to be replaced as shown at the pics.
I give a set of front S6 Recaro seats whose original leather can be used. I think it is better than new…
Some panels needs new paint job, as shown at the pics.
Car comes with original Plus wheels ( tyres needs to be replaced) and set of Azev wheels with almost new Nokian winter tyres.
Part of the ad is a Thule roof rack and a quite unique colour matching Thule box !!! Shown in the pictures.

Oh man…with the Tributes running around with Nogaro Blue RS2s joining the pack here in the States, what a treat it would be to bring this C4 V8 over. I can’t imagine a lot of S6 Avant plus especially in Nogaro Blue running around at your local Cars & Coffee. It has 291,000 km (180,820 miles) so its up there but it’s also listed at €18,900 ($21,373) which is way less than current prices on RS2s. If you want something different and can stash it somewhere in Europe until March, you can find it HERE.
