Find of the Day: 1995 Audi S6 Avant V10 6-speed

words: Bill, photos: Joel Francisco

Back in 1995, Audi was selling a wagon with a 2.2L 5-cylinder and it was a hit. However, Joel decided that his C4 S6 Avant needed double the cylinders. He not only swapped in a 5.2 V10, he also put a manual transmission in. Here’s the ad:

Kinda want something new so testing the waters for this thing. V10 5.2 swapped roughly 25,xxx miles ago and has been an absolute dream to drive up and down the entire East Coast. Engine from a 2007 Audi S6 with 105,xxx when pulled (Currently at around 130,xxx now). Rebuilt 6sp 01e transmission from B5 S4 with upgraded 1-2 collar and all synchros.
Fresh coilovers, Bilstein in the rear with 700lbs and Koni’s in the front with 500lbs springs.
Lamborghini Huracan Headers to a dual 2.5″ exhaust with Vibrant Resonators and Magnaflow Muffler. (Much more entertaining to disconnect the entire exhaust and hear Lambo noises).
Car runs great, never seen a flatbed! Have a spare engine + trans with a plethora of spare parts that can go with the car. Clean title in my name.

Oh my…also found a YouTube video of it (see below). There are several videos on Joel’s channel. This sounds like a very fun vehicle to have in your garage. It’s listed on the Audi Club North America – Classifieds Facebook page for $27,500. If you want an insane amount of power in a C4 Avant while rowing your own gears, you can find it HERE.
